It’s safe to say that colourful and beautiful nail art has been a saving grace through this past year. One woman who has brought all nail art dreams to a reality is the extremely talented nail artist, Bryony Howell.

Popular for her creative art designs, ranging from gold cuffs to colourful french tips, Bryony has taken over social media by storm. With her impressive photography and looks that inspire almost all of our future nail appointments, TikTok and Instagram has become a huge platform for the creative nail artist.

Until now, you may have had the absence of knowing who is behind all of your nail inspiration and it’s finally time to speak personally with Bryony herself.

Tell us a bit about yourself!

Hey! I’m Bryony Howell, a 24 year old Nail Artist from Shropshire, England. I paint nails from my home studio which is based on my Dad’s farm. When I’m not pampering my clients, you will find me walking my cockapoo, Freddie, or shopping in my favourite place, Zara. I have always worked in the Motor Trade before entering the world of nails. I was made redundant last July and decided this was the push I needed to become a full time, self-employed Nail Artist.

How and when did you first get into doing nails?

I’ve always religiously had my nails done for as long as I can remember. I always used to opt for extensions as I didn’t think it was possible to grow my natural nails. I then discovered The Gel Bottle’s BIAB (Builder in a Bottle) which totally changed the game for me. I qualified and bought the products straight away, starting my journey to long, healthy natural nails. This was back in summer 2019.

Where do you get your nail inspiration from?

My nail inspiration tends to come from fashion! I have always loved to follow the trends and put my own twist on them. This is the same for nails. I love to match my manicure to my outfit and vice versa. I feel most inspired when I have had a few days off and I come back with lots of ideas. I like to keep a list of ideas on my notes section on my phone.

You were featured in Vogue, how did that come about?

Being featured in Vogue is definitely one of my biggest achievements! I still have to pinch myself now. My gold french manicure was definitely the catalyst of my success and what caught the eye of Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Glamour Magazine to name a few.

You’ve been recognised by some of the UK’s leading companies, what was your biggest ‘pinch-me’ moment?

It is so hard to choose which is my biggest “pinch me moment”! Along side Vogue, I would have to say my collaboration with Missguided X Playboy and becoming a Brand Ambassador for The Gel Bottle are up there. To represent such huge brands is something I could only have dreamt of being back in my office job a year ago. I am extremely grateful for the opportunities that have come my way.

Congratulations for reaching 100K+ followers! How does it feel to know that so many people love your work and appreciate what you do?

Thank you so much! It actually blows my mind to think that so many people love my work, I cannot even process it! I appreciate every single person that supports my little business, without them I would not have had these amazing opportunities. This time last year I had just 1000 followers.

What do you hope for the future of your business and where do you see it going?

I am so excited for what the future holds for my business. I would love to continue working with brands commercially and once we can, I would love to be able to travel with my job meeting lots of lovely people along the way.

Howell’s story and determination to follow her passion and reach her goals are truly inspirational! We look forward to seeing her latest designs and collaborations. Make sure to follow @gelsbybry on Instagram to stay updated on the latest nail art.
